About Vbeam Pulsed Dye Laser

For some people, unwanted vascular skin conditions can cause a great deal of embarrassment or discomfort. Thanks to the Vbeam pulsed dye laser, however, many of these people have regained their confidence. If you are suffering from problems such as red stretchmarks, red birthmarks, scars, rosacea, or leg and facial veins, this safe, revolutionary treatment may be right for you. The Vbeam laser has also been successfully used to help reduce the signs of aging by reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The laser also works to provide skin rejuvenation by tightening the skin.

In recent years, laser treatments have proven to be some of the safest and least invasive procedures available, and the Vbeam pulsed dye laser is no different. Using a hand held device, a trained professional performs the procedure on an outpatient basis. The device is used to deliver concentrated doses of heat directly to the blood vessels that are being treated. The surrounding skin is left unharmed. Depending on the size of the area being treated, each session can last anywhere from a few minutes to over an hour. For most patients, the procedure causes mild discomfort or a stinging sensation. Most patients are not bothered by discomfort enough to use any anesthesia at all, but if the patient is experiencing severe discomfort, a topical anesthetic may be applied.

Immediately following the procedure, patients are advised to treat the skin carefully for about a week. Direct sunlight should be avoided, and abrasive cleansers should not be used. Some patients experience bruising or swelling following Vbeam pulsed dye laser treatments. Results are typically noticeable within a week after the initial procedure. For more information, please contact your local facility.
