A large number of men suffer from symptoms that are directly related to low levels of testosterone in the body. This is particularly common as men begin to age and enter the period of life known as andropause. However, it is something which may happen at any time throughout life as the result of a myriad of causes.
Low testosterone levels, particularly those associated with andropause, can cause a series of negative side effects for the man with this problem. Those side effects include fatigue, difficulty with sexual function and aging problems such as osteoporosis. The good news is that this problem can be easy treated with hormone replacement therapy; the bad news is that a large percentage of men are not getting treated.
There are many reasons that a man may fail to get treatment for low testosterone levels. Many men don't realize that they have the problem, attributing their symptoms to something else or ignoring them entirely. Other men don't realize that there is treatment for the problem. And those men who do have awareness of the treatment may be unable to pay for such care.
