
One of the biggest fears that many of us have about getting older is that we're going to lose our minds. Dementia and Alzheimer's are terrifying disease of aging that impact a large percentage of the popular. This causes people interested in longevity to be highly interested in finding ways to limit the likelihood of developing these diseases. A new study shows that one of the best ways to do that may be to lose any excess weight that you've gained over the years.
The study reveals that there is a direct correlation between obesity and dementia / Alzheimer's. In fact, it shows that there may be an eighty percent greater chance of developing these diseases if you are obese. That's a huge correlation and one to think about carefully if you're getting older and still carrying a lot of extra weight.
It's easier to lose weight and develop healthy habits if you start at a younger age so this is important information even if you're not at risk of dementia quite yet. It's also never to late to try to start geting healthier, though, so if you're getting up in years and think that this could be a problem for you then you might want to act now.
