HRT May Be Better Than People Thought

pd_birth_control_070518_ms.jpg

The use of hormone replacement therapy has been a controversial issue over the last five to ten years. It was originally considered to be something of a miracle for women suffering problems associated with menopause and aging. However, it then got a bad reputation for being linked with health problems like breast cancer and fell out of use among a large segment of the population. New studies are taking place now because of the belief that the public's concerns about HRT are not warranted.

The studies that were done which originally contributed to the decline in use of HRT appear to have failed to take into consideration numerous factors which could have impacted the results of the research. The women who were studied were found to have a number of different pre-existing issues in their life which could have been the root cause of the cancer, meaning that the link between HRT and cancer may not actually be true. New research is now taking place to provide a more accurate picture of the risks of HRT so that women can weigh them against the benefits of the medication.
