One of the trends that we've seen growing over the last several decades is a trend towards combining both modern medicine and "alternative" or natural medicine to create a full health and wellness plan for each individual. Unfortunately, this trend has remained primarily an individual effort and not one supported by the medical community here. In other words, your alternative health care provider is not likely to recommend medical care and your doctor isn't likely to suggest alternative health treatments. This is unfortunate because the two medicines could be complimentary if more widely accepted by one another in America.
We know this because we've seen it happen in Australia which leads the way in what is called "complementary medicine". They've worked on providing natural wellness cures that can be incorporated into mainstream medicine. And they're going to be working on those efforts even more in the upcoming years as the result of an extensive grant just given to the University of Queensland to do further research into this area of health.
