Barbara Walters Anti-Aging Special Airs Tonight

Barbara%2520gray.jpg

Barbara Walters is going to be taking a close look at how long we can live healthy lives on a special show tonight called Live to be 150 ... Can You Do It? Walters did a significant amount of research into anti-aging in order to prepare for the show, speaking with anti-aging doctors at various research hospitals and also speaking with a group of people all over the age of 100 who are living healthy lives.

You can learn more about what to expect from the show by reading this article by Walters. Some of the interesting information highlighted in the article includes:

- There are over 80,000 people in the United States who are over the age of 100.
-One key to increasing how long you live is reducing your caloric intake.
-
-Genes account for only one quarter of our longevity; the rest is up to us!
-Advances in longevity medicine include that "the heart research lab at the University of Minnesota took just a few days to grow a living, beating rat heart from stem cells."
- One day it could be "cool" to be old!

The special is on tonight at 10 PM Eastern Time on ABC.

Question of the Day: Would you want to live to be 150 years old?
