"After 50" Health Fair Sees Success

stethoscope.jpg

This past weekend there was a health and wellness event held in Louisiana that people in other parts of the country should take note of. It was called the "After 50" event and provided free health information to people aged fifty and older. In addition to general health information, there were booths set up to offer free health screenings to those people seeking more detailed information about their personal health status.

There are several types of people that this event would be useful for. Some simply can't afford the health screenings that are available there so they come to the event to get them done for free. This alerts them to major problems that they could then see their own doctor about if necessary. Others are people who are wary of preventive health but are interested in general wellness and come in search of more information.

The lesson to be learned here is that these events are something that communities can benefit from. Each of us is different in the way that we approach our own wellness. Some people are best suited to attending expos like this in order to get started on their path to good health. Keep an eye out for such an event in your own area and show your support!

Question of the Day: Would you be someone likely to attend a health and wellness event such as this one?
