You've always known that it's harder to stay in shape as a woman when you start to get older. You have to do twice as much work at the gym to maintain the body that you had in your younger years. And now a study confirms this fact.
The study also showed that it was likely that a lot of the difficulty comes from the fact that women need protein to build muscles and that they lose their ability to use protein when they start going through menopause. In order to counter this, aging women should add additional protein to their diets. They should also focus on muscle-building exercises.
Women may also consider using hormone replacement therapy to diminish the effects of menopause. The decrease in estrogen is part of the problem and HRT can replace that estrogen in order to make it easier for you to stay in shape in your later years.
