When we talk about women's health, we are normally speaking about women's fertility. We may also be speaking of the hormonal changes that are associated with menstruation and menopause. However, there's more to women than just these aspects of their health.
This fact is highlighted by an upcoming presentation at the MTSU School of Nursing. The event, which is in celebration of Women's History Month, is composed of three different women speaking about different aspects of women's health.
The different areas of health which are being discussed at this presentation are cancer risk, pain in women's bodies and the impact of cosmetic surgery. These are aspects of health that we normally don't specify as they relate to women. However, women and men experience these things differently and it's important to note these differences when dealing with these topics.
Question of the Day: What do you consider the term "women's health" to encompass?
