It has long been believed that drinking red wine in moderation can be beneficial to your health. A new study confirms that it is likely to increase both the quality of life and life's longevity for women who are aging. There have been questions in the past about whether this was true for women over the age of seventy and the study now reveals that these women may do well for themselves to enjoy a drink or two every now and then.
The research was conducted in Australia using surveys of over 12,000 women between the ages of 70 and 80. Following these women over six years using basic questionairres, the researchers were able to make important determinations about the benefits of red wine for their health. In fact, the study showed that women who didn't drink red wine or who rarely drank at all were more likely to die than were their female counterparts who drank red wine regularly in moderation.
